As I puppy-bounce into 2025 (!), it’s time to reflect on the past year of wagging tails, twitching whiskers, and the many amazing walks. Having cared for over 35 pets in the last 12 months—and with bookings already through to October—it’s clearly going to be another incredible year.

To celebrate the new year, I’m sharing my tongue-in-cheek resolutions for 2025, tailored to ensure your pets have the best care while you’re away.

  1. Master the Fine Art of the Treat Jar Rattle
Because nothing grabs a pet’s attention faster than the sound of snacks. Perfect for coaxing out aloof cats, curious pups, or that one shy bunny in the back of the run.
  2. Upgrade My Dog-Calming Playlist
If I need to go out for a little while, I like to leave the dogs I’m caring for with some calming vibes. I often choose a local radio station if the pup seems to need human company. I’ve also tried smooth jazz, classical music, and chilled Spanish guitar. For 2025, I’m going to venture further afield—maybe the Pet Shop Boys, The Pussycat Dolls, or Snoop Dog might hit the spot!
  3. Learn to Speak Fluent Bearded Dragon! Or Guinea Pig.
Squeak-squeak? Squeeeak! Translation: “Where’s my parsley?” Rest assured, all my exotic and small pets will have their culinary demands met.
  4. Stock up on More Lint Rollers
There’s no such thing as “too many” when you’re sharing the couch with a shedding Saluki/greyhound mix. Or a quartet of Dachshunds! (Not naming names, but you know who you are.)
  5. Practice My Cat Cwtching Technique
For some, it’s chin scratches; for others, it’s belly rubs—until it’s not….ouch! By year’s end, I’ll have all 32 variations of “acceptable cat affection” down pat.
  6. Embrace the Element of Surprise
From unexpected zoomies to mystery hairballs, pets love keeping things exciting. My resolution? Always be prepared—and maybe keep a mop handy.
  7. Maintain My Gold-Star Reputation
With over 35 furry, feathered, and scaly clients last year, I aim to keep my 5-star reviews rolling in. Reliable, professional, and a little too excited about a well-stocked pet pantry—that’s me!
  8. Stock Up on Doggy Bags (The Literal Kind), Balls, Flingers, and Frisbees
Because nothing says “dedicated pet sitter” like being ready for every outdoor adventure (and its messy aftermath).
  9. Find New Ways to Spoil Your Pets
Every pet deserves a little extra love while you’re away, whether it’s extra playtime, bonus cuddles, or the occasional peanut butter-filled Kong. Rest assured, all allergy-diet instructions will be followed to the letter while you are away.
  10. Continue Booking Up My Calendar Early
With bookings already across 9 months into 2025, it seems pets across Essex, Suffolk, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and Wales are spreading the word. Don’t miss out—reserve your dates now!

Here’s to a happy, paw-sitive 2025 filled with wagging tails, purring cuddles, and the occasional squeaky toy ambush. Need a sitter for your furry (or scaly) family? Get in touch—I’ll be the one practicing my treat jar shake.
